John Schroder has a demonstrated a lifetime of commitment to our area and our people. While a great foundation for legislative leadership in Baton Rouge, it is John's passionate belief in the issues important to us all that sets him a part.

• "Back the Blue" To Lower Crime  As a former law enforcement officer, John knows the importance of state government working closely with our sheriffs and chiefs of police. John will help secure much needed funding for additional manpower, equipment and the latest training to help keep pace with our growing population.


• Insurance Reform Now!  John believes that market-based reforms — not government bureaucracy — can solve our insurance crisis. The answer is more competition, not bigger government.


• Continue Education Reforms  We must resist efforts to roll back TOPS and our statewide school accountability programs. John believes that Southeastern can grow in its role as an economic development engine for the Northshore with smart investment by our Legislature.


• More and Better Roads  Some of our worst roads are state roads and highways that have been neglected for far too long. John will make improving Highways 190, 21 and 22 his top priority as our state legislator.
